'Whispering Your Name' was vocalist Alison Moyet's first single of 1994, and her last to enter the UK top 40 chart to date. The track was written by American singer-songwriter Jules Shear who has also penned tracks for Cyndi Lauper and The Bangles.
The promotional video featured a cameo appearance by the hilarious comedienne Dawn French, which lightens the mood of the rebound relationship lyrics.
