'When Will I See You Again' was one of the most standout tracks of the Philly Soul era, released by American female vocal group The Three Degrees in 1974. Taken from the trio's third eponymous album, the single peaked at number 2 in the US and topped the UK singles chart!
Written and produced by platinum-selling duo Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, 'When Will I See You Again' was close to never being released, when long-serving Thirteen Degrees singer Sheila Ferguson 'threw a tantrum' when Gamble first played it to her - screaming and yelling that she would never sing such a simple song. But several million copies sold later proved her wrong!
Since storming the soul scene in the 70s, the track has been covered by the likes of Magda Layna, Bad Manners and Erasure, before Almighty's very own Dream Girls put their Hi-NRG stamp on it in 1993!
