'Jolene' is the much-covered classic, originally written and performed by queen of camp country pop Dolly Parton. With the release of her new film Joyful Noise, Almighty thought it would be the perfect time to put our own spin on one of her most popular hits! 

Released in 1973 'Jolene' became Parton's second solo number-one single in the country charts. The following year it was released as a single in the UK, where it reached number seven. 

'Jolene' tells the story of a desperate housewife who believes that another woman is trying to steal her husband from her. Parton has said that the inspiration for the song came from her own suspicions that another woman was flirting with her husband. In her live performances, Dolly has admitted that she fought this woman tooth and nailfor her man! That's the Dolly we know and love! 

The Almighty mix takes inspiration from Strawberry Switchbade's version of this timeless song, marrying the 80s drum sounds with Almighty's pop-dance production and Eva Leone's outstanding vocals!
