Almighty - The Label

Almighty The Label – The Whole Story

Almighty have been the forerunners of pop/dance since they released their first single in 1990. Over the years their fan base has grown extensively and with every release (and they’re currently up to over 205), further interest is developed. DJs the world over are especially supportive and the fanbase is ever expanding. Today, Almighty are one of the biggest and most successful independent pop/dance specialist labels in the UK. In 1993, the label scored their first top 20 chart hit with Sarah Washington’s ‘I Will Always Love You’, which became a huge international success. Other notable single successes include releases by Abbacadabra, Freda Payne, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Donna Summer and Jimmy Sommerville. The label have also enjoyed several chart and club hits in the USA with four Billboard Hot 100 entries. The Abbacadabra project in fact has been one of our most successful internationally. With 5 albums and over 10 singles in the last 10 years, sales have so far exceeded a rather respectable 250,000 units (see artist site Abbacadabra for more info). Our biggest selling project to date though is the enormously successful 'Queer As Folk' soundtrack CD. This album went 'Gold' within one month of going on sale back in March 1999 (see artist site 'Queer As Folk' for more info). More recently, our Who's That Girl! album 'Exposed' has been the main Almighty project as well as producing the soundtrack album for ITV1's successful 'Bob & Rose' series. The big Almighty priority in 2002 was the Obsession album 'We Love Elton' – Elton's classics remade to a disco beat. Listen out for exciting new homegrown Almighty/Euphoric single releases and new compilations 'Almighty 1's' and 'Almighty – The Definitive Collection'. Up and coming projects include the eagerly awaited Obsession 'hits' album as well as new compilations.

The Almighty studio teams work from their own studios in North London and it’s here that they work day and night, sometimes seven days a week creating the dancefloor tunes of today and tomorrow! Largely famed for being the label that 'pop-up' the songs that always needed to be 'pop'd up', Almighty have, pretty well, since day one, strived to satisfy the customers... making dance tunes that people love. Almighty's production team try to keep their sound fresh and as innovative as possible and this is what the label are respected for.
