That back in 1999 Almighty were asked by the production company behind ‘Queer As Folk” to suggest and produce tracks specifically for the Manchester club and bar scenes in the show. A major record company turned down the opportunity to release the album due to the flop of two previous music led shows on Channel 4. It was then that Almighty were asked if they would like to put the album out with only one month to the series starting. They were given a list of tracks to work from having not seen the show. Many outside tracks could not be cleared including one by Steps, who at the time considered the programme “too low profile” for them to be associated with. After to the success of ‘Queer As Folk” the Channel 4 television corporation decided to launch their own music division with the launch of Queer As Folk 2 and the birth of an international franchise.
